Meet HTC Desire Eye, a new higher-mid-range smartphone that focuses on selfies. The Desire Eye ‘selfie phone’ features a 13 megapixel front facing camera with a front-facing Dual LED flash, as well as a 13 megapixel rear camera with a Dual LED Flash, a 5.2 inch 1080p display, a 2.3 Ghz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard memory, BoomSound stereo front facing speakers, a 2400 mAh battery, and has an IPX7 waterproof rating (one meter of water for up to 30 minutes). All that, and it’s 8.5mm thick, and weighs 154 grams.
The HTC Desire Eye will go on sale in the US on AT&T later this month, and globally shortly after, and will be priced somewhere between the 64-bit Desire 820 and the HTC One E8, which is a plastic version of the One M8. It’ll be available in two “double-shot” colors: Coral Reef (white with an orange-red trim), and Blue Lagoon (Dark blue with a light blue trim).
